April mags

Issue #10 of Black Static: Transmissions From Beyond (T3A Press) has a wonderfully disturbing, sickly yellow artwork, and has my name on the front cover. Okay, so I'm ranked only just above "free stuff", but I think that's a first for me!
;)

My blu-ray and DVD review column, Blood Spectrum, for this horror magazine starts with coverage of John Gulager's Feast trilogy, continues with Mutant Chronicles, Max Payne, the Saw series, Scar, Blindness, The Children, Hansel And Gretel, Fingerprints, Boogeyman 3, Mirrors, and a round-up that includes: Watch Me When I Kill, Babysitter Wanted, They Wait, Red Sands, Vacancy 2: The First Cut, Borderland, Manhunt, Anamorph, and mention of Undead Or Alive.

Also received today, Midnight Street: Journeys Into Darkness (www.midnightstreet.co.uk) #12, the fine small press magazine with mixed genre content, edited by Trevor Denyer. This issue has my book review of Daniel Marcus' variable collection of short fiction Binding Energy (Elastic Press) on the mag's back cover.

Nocturnals

Watched the French vampire film, Les Morsures de l'aube (aka: Love Bites, 2001), directed by Antoine de Caunes, and starring Asia Argento, Guillaume Canet, and Gerard Lanvin. Surprisedly to find that end credits feature a track Nocturnals by Peter Gabriel. Good film, and pleased to find this Gabriel song. It's been a while he released Up... Hope some version of Nocturnals will appear on his long-delayed I/O album project.
